To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 25 July 2018.

Minutes:

The minutes of the meeting held on 25 July 2018 were approved as a correct record subject to the following inclusions at Minute 193/18:

1.    an additional comment made during the debate that, “The application was unique, in that it was supported by all but one of the local respondents and their representatives” and

2.    that Councillor M.J. Madams left the meeting after the item had been debated.

Minutes:

Description:

The proposal sought to add a single storey extension to replace an existing enclosed area of hardstanding that had previously been used by the ‘Greeno Centre’ as a ‘well-being’ area.

Debate:

During the debate the following key issues were raised:

  • Minimal appearance,
  • Very difficult to refuse
  • Greeno provides lots of excellent activities for the elderly, this extension will provide more room for the elderly
  • Loss of outdoor recreation

 

Decision:

The recommendation to approve was agreed as per the Committee Report.

Description:

This Tree Preservation Order sought to protect both the Oak and Plane trees because of their ‘significant contribution to the visual amenities of the locality’.

There was none.

Debate:

During the debate the following key issues were raised:

  • Trees to be preserved in the public interest
  • Trees are big and worthy of a TPO
  • It is important the trees are preserved for the amenity of the area and to protect wildlife

 

Decision:

The recommendation to confirm the TPO without modification was agreed.

Description:

This Tree Preservation Order sought to protect the Oak tree because of its

significant contribution to the visual amenities of the locality’.

  • Query over why the previous housing proposal was a threat to the tree
  • Query over how the owner is aware that a TPO has been made.

 

Decision:

The recommendation to confirm the TPO without modification was agreed.

The Chairman informed the Committee that if any Member had any detailed queries regarding the report on Appeals lodged and decisions received since the last meeting, they should contact the Planning Development Manager.
