I propose the Council submits a request for the establishment of a Charter Trustee of Spelthorne to the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). This will ensure that the Office of Mayor is preserved following the creation of the East and West Surrey Authorities. The Trustee Body will be responsible for maintaining the role of the Mayor, the Civic Regalia and the Freeman of the Borough.
