River Thames Alliance

Description

The purpose of the partnership (the “RTA”) is to bring together key stakeholders including the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, Riparian Landowners and businesses, River User Groups etc, to focus on strategic issues affecting the rejuvenation of the non-tidal River Thames.

 

To act as a focal point through which constituent organisations (“Members”) may jointly work together on issues relating to navigation, leisure and environmental improvement of the non-tidal River Thames and its immediate environment from its source to Teddington.

 

To produce jointly agreed proposals for the development and implementation of a sustainable “Waterway Plan” for the Thames.

 

To provide the means for the production of jointly agreed strategies, funding bids and actions in pursuit of improvements to the River Thames and its immediate environment.

 

To consider education and social inclusion when producing strategies for the development of the non-tidal River Thames.
