Council is asked to approve the proposed Council Transitional Plan 2026/27 (as outlined in Appendix A).

Committee is asked to:

1.     Consider and agree the suggested amendments made to the proposed Council Transitional Plan 2026/27 following feedback from the Council’s Service Committees (as outlined in Appendix A);

2.     Endorse the amended Transitional Plan 2026/27 for recommendation for adoption by Full Council.

Committee resolved to:

1.    Agree the suggested amendments made to the proposed Council Transitional Plan 2026/27 following feedback from the Council’s Service Committees; and

2.    Endorse the amended Transitional Plan 2026/27 for recommendation for adoption by Full Council.

Committee considered a report that sought a recommendation for Council to adopt the amended Transitional Plan 2026/27.

Committee considered the amended Transitional Plan 2026/27 for the Council and the feedback from the Council’s Service Committees. The Council had previously agreed a 5-year plan that contained a wide range of planned actions but due to Local Government Reorganisation the Transitional Plan needed to be amended to reflect where the Council now needed to focus its resources to take it up to 31 March 2027 when the Council ceases to exist.

Members expressed their concerns about starting new projects that might incur additional costs that had not previously been included in the Council’s annual budget.

Committee resolved to:

1.    Agree the suggested amendments made to the proposed Council Transitional Plan 2026/27 following feedback from the Council’s Service Committees; and

2.    Endorse the amended Transitional Plan 2026/27 for recommendation for adoption by Full Council.

Committee is asked to consider the proposed Council Transitional Plan 2026/27.

The Committee resolved to:

1.    Endorse the proposed Council Transitional Plan 2026/27 for consultation with the Council’s Service Committees (as shown in Appendix A),

2.    For the results of the consultation exercise to be reported back to this Committee with recommendations for any amendments to the proposed Transitional Plan arising from the consultation period; and

3.    Note progress with actions under the existing Corporate Plan 2024-2028 (as shown in Appendix B).

The Committee considered the draft proposed Council Transitional Plan 2026/27 and were advised that it would be presented to all service committees for their comments in relation to the areas that come under the Terms of Reference for that individual committee and for agreed actions.

The Committee resolved to:

1.    Endorse the proposed Council Transitional Plan 2026/27 for consultation with the Council’s Service Committees (as shown in Appendix A),

2.    For the results of the consultation exercise to be reported back to this Committee with recommendations for any amendments to the proposed Transitional Plan arising from the consultation period; and

3.    Note progress with actions under the existing Corporate Plan 2024-2028 (as shown in Appendix B).
