Councillors Attewell, Boparai and Mooney advised they were also Surrey County Councillors.

Councillors Attewell, Bateson and Mooney advised that they were also West Surrey Councillors.

Council is asked to consider a Motion submitted in respect of Charter Trustees for the Borough of Spelthorne.

Council considered a motion submitted by Councillor Geach and proposed by Councillor Burrell on behalf of Councillor Geach and seconded by Councillor Williams on behalf of Councillor Button as follows:

‘I propose the Council submits a request for the establishment of a Charter Trustee of Spelthorne to the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government. This will ensure that the Office of Mayor is preserved following the creation of the East and West Surrey Authorities. The Trustee Body will be responsible for maintaining the role of the Mayor, the Civic Regalia and the Freeman of the Borough.’

A recorded vote was requested.

Council resolved to agree the motion.

Council is asked to confirm that a request for the establishment of Charter Trustees for Spelthorne, in the form as set out in Appendix 1, be submitted to the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government.
